Why does Kalulu the hare has a short tail?
Once upon a time, a hare by the name of Kalulu lived in a sizable forest. The entire jungle knew how quick and nimble Kalulu was. He was the forest's swiftest hare and was quite proud of his large, bushy tail, which he frequently swished back and forth as he ran.
When
Kalulu was out searching for food one day, he stumbled across a group of
juvenile rabbits attempting to escape a trap that had been set by a hunter. The
moment the hunter turned his attention away, Kalulu went into action, using his
speed and agility to buy the rabbits some time to flee.
Kalulu's
long tail became twisted as he sprinted away from the hunter, getting hooked on
a branch. As Kalulu attempted to free himself, his tail grew more and more entangled.
He eventually had to abandon his beloved tail and flee for his life.
From
that moment on, Kalulu's short tail became well-known throughout the forest. He
was initially ashamed and embarrassed by his new look, but over time he
realized that his tail did not define him. He was still the forest's fastest
hare, and he never stopped using his quickness and dexterity to aid needy animals.
As
the years passed, Kalulu became a respected and knowledgeable
elder in the forest. He frequently recalled how losing his tail had taught him
the value of humility and the strength of the human spirit. Furthermore, even
though he might have lost his long, bushy tail, he nevertheless acquired
something even more priceless: the respect and admiration of his tail.
I
dedicate this narrative to everyone who enjoys storytelling, especially my
comrade Nganigwa Mwakibete.
